The Boys Initiative was founded in 2008 by a group of researchers, community leaders and other individuals involved in boys issues who believed that such an effort was needed and could play an important role in society. Since 2010 the organization’s programs and activities have greatly expanded. The Boys Initiative is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia and has applied for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
